Services

The nursing home provides the following services by bringing in outside people; the service user however is responsible for paying for these services privately;

Hairdresser - we have a hairdresser visit the nursing home almost every week and all clients may visit and have their hair done – see “Extras Menu” for prices.

Dentist - the dentist visits the nursing home every six months and also when called in between, prices vary depending on work to be carried out, but you will be informed of the cost prior to any work being done.  Clients who are receiving benefits will not be charged.

Chiropodist - visits the nursing home on a monthly basis.  See “Extras Menu” for costs.  If extensive work is required then the price will be discussed on an individual basis.

Optician - visits the nursing home on request - prices vary, and clients on benefits do not pay.

Newspapers - these can be ordered from the local newsagents and delivered to the nursing home, if you require a paper please speak with the nurse in charge who will place your order for you.

General Practitioner

The nursing home has an arrangement with Helston Medical Centre where one of their GP’s will visit the home routinely for a Doctor’s Round, where any concerns can be discussed and appropriate actions taken.  All of our clients are welcome to register with this GP – see the Nurse in Charge when you view the home.

Alternatively, the Patient Charter states that every person has a right to register with a GP of their choice and if your GP is willing to visit the home, then the home is happy for you to remain with your own GP.
